The beauty benefits of drinking tea may seem anecdotal in some cases, but time after time, it’s been suggested that the benefits are real. We’re breaking down our favorite benefits of drinking tea. Perfect for this chilly season. So the next time you cozy up with some tea you can feel like you’re something extra for yourself.

1) Antioxidants

Fun fat, Green tea, Black tea and Oolong tea all come from the same plant. The difference is how the tea leaves are processed. Green tea is not fermented, but simply withered and steamed. The other teas are crushed and fermented. Either way, they have a ton of antioxidants not found in your daily diet, which is one of the true benefits of drinking tea.

2) Stress-relief

Real talk: the action of making yourself a cup of tea and finding a quiet place to enjoy it is something we don’t do all that often. It’s the same concept of taking a moment to meditate or just focus on YOU. How is this stress relief? Well, Even the 15 minutes you take to focus on the task of making the tea and the aroma, will have you way more relaxed than before you sat down. We all know how evil stress can be to our skin and hair, so take a few minutes to enjoy that tea. And de-stress automatically. Oh, and no phones allowed 😉

3) Anti-inflammatory agents

If you end up with puffy eyes for any reason, make some tea for yourself and then repurpose those tea bags. You can place tea bag on your eyes to reduce redness, puffiness, and irritation. Green tea and black tea both work for this. Basically, you’re giving your skin (the body’s largest organ) a direct sip of tea. Relax with the tea bags on your eyes for about 10-15 minutes to get full benefit.

There you have it. Run out and grab some tea. Take a minute to yourself and the benefits will be far beyond just enjoying a delicious cup of tea.
